When to Skip the Primary Care Physician and Go Straight to a Physical Therapist

Did you know that starting with physical therapy first can save you thousands of dollars? Physical therapy helps us by addressing harmful movement issues early on that, if left untreated, could easily lead to bigger, more expensive medical interventions in the future. Instead of reflexively spending hundreds of dollars on unnecessary medical doctor visits, or worse, ignoring your pain because of expensive healthcare costs, start with a visit to a Doctor of Physical Therapy first. If you’re experiencing some of the symptoms below, you can request a free consultation to see if it makes sense to skip a primary care physician and go right to a specialist:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Work injuries

  • Shoulder pain

  • Rotator cuff injuries

  • Tendonitis

  • Knee Pain

  • Sciatica

  • Foot and ankle pain

  • Join dislocations

In general, you should start with a Doctor of Physical Therapy first for back, joint, or muscle issues. If you’re still not sure, don’t worry! Your health is our biggest priority. If you do need to see a specialist, we know the best physicians in the area so we can help you take the guesswork out of choosing which doctor you should see.

So next time you’re having some back pain, or any of the issues above, save yourself some money and see a Physical Therapist first. We are always happy to have a free telephone consultation to decide if physical therapy is right for you and your pain. Just click here to request one!
